Cesca bar stool
The Cesca bar stool is here to stay
The Cesca bar stool bases its design on one of the most famous chairs in history and one of the furniture design icons, the Cesca chair. Almost all of us already know its history and it is not for less. It was designed in 1928 by Marcel Breuer and was part of his inimitable production of chromed tubular steel furniture.
The Cesca bar stool is as special as its little sister the chair, since it continues with the two main characteristic features that give it so much personality: its tubular steel structure using the Cantilever technique and its seat and backrest made with beech wood and natural enea grid.
The magic of this design makes the more time that has passed since Breuer drew it, the better fit in decorations with much more current styles, giving that classic touch that is often necessary to provide us with a point of contrast. In addition, being available in both black and honey, you can choose the option that best suits the style of your business. It is a stool suitable for decorating cafes or bars that want to achieve a cozy atmosphere with a style full of reminiscences of a bygone era.
Its versatility and cantilever shape makes it a very flexible and comfortable stool suitable for any space and environment.
Design Cesca, a classic that endures over time.
Marcel Breuer lost the authorship of this structural concept in favor of a fellow of the German school of the Bauhaus, Mart Stam and his Cantilever chair. However, for the history of design, this chair designed to sit in the air will always be worthwhile for Breuer. The subject of the name is another matter, since the chair was originally referred to as B32, but it turned out not to be very commercial. We believe it is much better to call her Cesca, as the Italian furniture firm Gavina Spa renamed her, and who was Cesca? Marcel’s daughter, Francesca.
